Mitch & Jalayne’s Blue Harbor Wedding

Mitch & Jalayne’s Blue Harbor wedding was so elegant and classy, but SO FAR from being stuffy or boring! With such fun friends and family, there was no way this party was going down without a ton of laughs, love and of course some killer dancing!

These two are one of those couples that are just so comfortable and easy going around each other that you can’t help but feel at ease around them too.  Their love for their family and friends was so evident throughout the day, especially their love for their adorable little boy!

Thank you for the honor of capturing your day Mitch & Jalayne!  And for indulging me in going out in the rain at night! LOL!

James & Jess – Covered Bridge engagement session

Well, when a weird Wisconsin spring gives you the oddest weather you’ve ever experienced I guess the only thing to do is make the best of it! Between the world’s most giant snowflakes and a sudden freezing drop in temperature – let’s just say this one was an adventure.  But in many ways I think a session like this fits James & Jess’s personalities PERFECTLY.  They seem like the type of couple that looks at life as one big adventure that they just want to go on together.  We talked a bit about their wedding plans, their life plans… and just their plans for Wednesday evening.  And there’s one common theme: they know that as long as they’re together they can face any adventures (or sudden ice storms!) life has to throw at them.

Can’t wait for your big day James & Jess!

Joe & Caroline’s Kohler Andrae Wedding

Joe and Caroline’s wedding was the kind of day that photographers dream about.  Thoughtful details, heartfelt ceremony, welcoming family  and friends, adorable kids, breathtaking locations, dramatic skies, a warm glowing sunset, an adventurous couple, and of course so much love!!  I know that this day meant so much to Joe and Caroline, and their families as well.  It was beautiful to not only see a couple come together, but a family also now that Joe’s lovely daughters can officially call Caroline their step-mom!

When Joe and Caroline explained their vision to me I was hooked.   They wanted to have a super intimate party where they could spend quality time with their loved ones while watching their girls and other kiddos play.  They wanted some amazing handcrafted details and personal touches.   I guess maybe if I had to put a name on it I’d call it “Campfire Chic.”  Maybe I just made that up.  🙂  But either way, it turned out exactly like they described.

The details were indeed incredibly personal.  The bunting was sewn by her mother.  The flowers were purchased an arranged by a vendor at a local farmers’ market.  Even the fabric for the table runners will be used by her mother to make a quilt for Joe and Caroline to have in their home.

It was also wonderful to have so much time to capture the beauty of the locations Joe and Caroline chose.  We started at the amazing home they rented on Lake Michigan where Joe and Caroline shared a private first-look on the beach before we headed over to the park for their ceremony and party.  The day was magic and I simply love how their story unfolded.  Thank you for allowing me the honor of telling that story Joe & Caroline!  Wishing you a lifetime of love!

Introducing Allison Marie

It was such a pleasure meeting this sweet little girl!  I was able to photograph her when she was just 9 days old, but I could already tell that she’s going to be such a sweet and lovely baby.  And if she’s anything like her parents, she’ll also be strong, smart and kind.

She reminds me of the quote from Shakespeare’s A Midsummer Night’s Dream.  “Though she be but little, she is fierce!”  It will be a wonderful adventure to watch this little one grow.  I’ve been able to capture David and Ellen’s wedding day as well as their maternity portraits, and I can say one thing for sure- little Allison is surrounded by so much love.  After seeing the love and support surrounding David and Ellen on their wedding day, I know that Allison will have so many friends and family members who will show her the same kind of love and support as she grows.  And of course, Allison already has her mom and dad head over heels!

Welcome to the world sweet girl!
